Introduction

Special acknowledgment must be made to two very important people in my life. The first is my inspiration to begin blogging and the man that introduced me and inspired me in becoming a social media consultant: Patrick Kitano. Pat, my former business associate at Domus Consulting Group and close friend, is truly a thought leader in the social media space and one of the original first adopters of Twitter and Facebook.

The second hero in my rise into blogging and social media is my current business partner Susan Hanshaw, A former Vice President in a large direct marketing firm and marketing expert, it was Susan who helped me believe in my abilities and was instrumental in launching my public speaking career. She means the world to me.

Today is my 5 year anniversary as a blogger. Although my instincts say write a post about my accomplishments and experiences as a blogger, my judgment says that’s too self serving. Instead, I will dedicate this short post, #718 to my thoughts on Google and why they have provided free products to the masses.

Google’s Premise

Long before consumers had privacy issues with Google, Google understood the “social graph” and how the information we provide to them, through all of their free product offerings, could impact their ability to deliver target specific advertising that works.

Today, Google understands that Google+ is the “glue” that binds together their product offerings. They have rewarded consumers and brands that have adopted Google+ with SEO benefits. Any free product that Google offers is done, first and foremost, to capture your personal information, your habits, your favorite things-people-places. Eventually all of this social graph intelligence will help them continue to build better advertising product offerings and in the future truly build a real-time search engine that prominently includes “social signals” and not just questionably link stuffed websites.

Conclusion: Citizen Journalist Power to the People!

Blogging is the lynchpin driving force behind Web 2.0. We  have finally gained control over our own information. We now are “citizen journalist” with the power that blogging has represented in the democratization of content, news, and personal information. We are in control and own our destiny like no other time in history. We have wrestled this control from the greedy, over confident, and monopolistic print and television media that had a stranglehold over us for over a century.

Suspect Sought In Hell’s Angel’s ‘Frisco President Slaying

One Christopher Ablett of Modesto is being sought tonight in connection with the slaying of San Francisco Hell’s Angel Chapter President Mark “Papa” Guardado according to KRON TV newscast. The only details to this point, according to the report, is that police have searched a house in Modesto, California and found evidence connecting Ablett to the crime.

Details are forthcoming and little is known. The report flashed a picture of the suspect who was reported to be 35 years old, brown hair, with little other information available.

‘Frisco Hell’s Angel’s Chapter President Shot Dead

San Francisco Hell’s Angel Chapter president Mark “Papa” Guardado was shot and killed after a struggle only blocks from the ‘Frisco clubhouse according to reports from the San Francisco Chronicle today.

The murder took place at approximately 10:30pm when Guardado and an unknown assailant were engaged in what Lt. Mike Stasko of SFPD’s homicide detail described as “They had a wrestling match first,” Then “the guy shot him(Guardado) , and he got on his motorcycle and left.”

Speculation

Speculation after the incident ran wild with the most prominent scenario’s being a rival biker gang hit by the Mongols or any number of other gangs in the area. Guardado’s attorney Patrick Ciocca had a different take on the slain Angel:

“He really was an all-around good guy. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of people who are going to miss him dearly.”

On the other side of the ledger is Sonoma County prosecutor Victoria Shanahan’s take on Guardado who she described as “was an extremely dangerous gang member,”

California has long had the reputation as a driving mecca where the culture demands and honors the automobile. No place on earth was this more true than Los Angeles where citizen take their driving and love of cars to a new level.

But then in the 1980’s a new phenomenon arrived: the freeway shooting. Los Angeles was the home of the freeway shooting which then became the drive-by shooting.

In either case the nation was introduced to “road rage” the newest form of anger on the road. No longer was it good enough to flip some _sshole off or tailgate them into the guardrail. Now people were actually pulling out guns and attempting to kill the “offending” driver.

Latest Arrest: Tale of Road Rage

Today a unnamed, as of yet, 19 year old El Cerrito man was arrested on suspicion of shooting Hells Angel William McLean on Highway 101 near Corte Madera according to local rag the Marin Independent Journal. Earlier in the week, Jessica Andrea Gordon, 20 years old, of Mill Valley was arrested for the murder and held under tight security at the Marin County Jail.

Evidence: Leave It Around The House

Investigators have found the truck a red Dodge Durango and they recovered a 9mm handgun from the suspects residence in Richmond, California. The gun is being tested for ballistics and will surely come back as the murder weapon.

Final Results

What we have are two babies being charged with a very adult crime for which either one or both will spend the remainder of their life behind bars paying for their crime. Douglas Horngrad the attorney representing Jessica Gordon is vehemently denying that she was the shooter stating:

“Under no construction of the facts here do police believe for one second that she’s the shooter,” Horngrad said. “I’m absolutely certain that she is not guilty of murder.”

The results are one innocent man murdered and two lives ruined for what? Somebody was cut off in traffic? Somebody was tailgating? Somebody made a gesture? Are any of these things even remotely worth the results?

And by the way, if you think for a moment that the 19 year old male suspect or Ms Gordon’s lives are worth a plug nickel if they somehow beat this case–think again. The “81” will never forget.

Newsflash: 20 Year Old California Woman Arrested In Hells Angels Murder

In a very surprising development, and one that has many angles, a 20 year old Marin county woman was arrested for the murder of Hells Angel William Mclean in a drive-by shooting on bustling 101 Freeway this past week.

Law enforcement officials arrested the woman, “under tight secrecy”, last Thursday without releasing any information. She was charged with the murder on Friday. The suspect is being held at the Marin County jail under heavy guard in anticipation of retaliation by prisoners or outside forces.

No further details have been released and the investigation into the murder is ongoing.

There Will Be Hell To Pay: Victim of Drive-By Shooting Related To Hells Angels Chapter President

New details about the hit on a Hells Angel member have been released. The victim was William Crompton Maclean, the brother-in-law of Sonoma County chapter president, Raymond Foakes. Maclean, 25 years old, was shot and killed on Highway 101 north in Marin County.

Foakes was one of the participants in the now infamous Laughlin, Nevada brawl with the Mongols that killed 3 Hells Angels and 1 Mongol before order was restored.

In a spooky, if not ominous development, one of the newspaper writers covering the events surrounding this murder wrote a very short notice for a crime in Santa Rosa, California two days ago. A man was found shot to death in his truck while the passenger was allowed to walk away from the incident without a scratch. No names were printed in the article and no description was provided of the truck.

Although this is most likely a separate incident, it would interesting to know more details about the murder MO, the murder victim, and the vehicle he was found shot to death in.

Marin County Law Enforcement Officials

In a recent statement, officials said they are beefing up security for this weekend’s Hells Angel Poker Run which will begin from the Golden Gate Harley Davidson in Corte Madera with a final destination of Stafford Lake in Novato.

Show of Force

Officials predict that this ride will be a show of force with expectations of as many as 200 riders participating in the run. It will also be a ride of respect to honor their fallen Angel.

Details Trickle In On Hell’s Angel Execution In Northern California

The latest news about the recent drive-by shooting death of a Hell’s Angel member, on crowded Highway 101 north, has begun to slowly come out. Here is what we know so far according to media sources.

Details So Far

1. The victim was shot while riding in a white Chevy truck; approximate time 8:15pm Saturday night

2. The Hells Angels were traveling to Sonoma County, up 101 north, after attending the funeral of Angel Julian Serrano in Daly City

3. The Shooter’s vehicle described as a red SUV may have been a Dodge Durango

4. The shooting happened between Tiburon Blvd in Mill Valley and the Paradise Dr. exit in Corte Madera

5. The police are “pretending” (my words) that they don’t know whether this shooting was a random act of violence or a hit.

Commentary: Give me a freaking break! Anybody stupid enough to take a random shot at a group of Hells Angels riding in formation behind a truck is absolutely crazy. That is HIGHLY unlikely.

6. The Shooter’s vehicle exited 101 and escaped. . . IJ “It was unclear whether the other Hells Angels members chased the vehicle and obtained a license plate number, but none was provided to investigators.”

Commentary: Are the cops kidding? Do they really think that if the Angels ran down a plate number they would hand it over to the cops?

“Did He Really Say That Quote of the Day” : IJ “We’re hoping that the members of the club (81) will be open and honest and provide as much information as possible.” Yes and I am hoping that Santa Claus will land on my roof and deliver a big bag of cash on Christmas Day.

7. An unnamed law enforcement agency confiscated the guest sign-in book at the funeral parlor and took surveillance photos of the funeral attendees

Update: California Hell’s Angel Shot On 101–Could This Signal A Biker War?

As first reported, new details have emerged about the drive-by shooting of a Hell’s Angel last night which resulted in the death of the victim. Originally thought to be riding a Harley in a pack of Angels heading north on Highway 101, the victim was actually riding in a white Chevrolet pickup truck that was leading the pack north.

Bikers have been known to use a war wagon that carries bike parts, “supplies”, and other equipment that the bikers do not have room to carry or do not want to carry on their person or bike.

Speculation circulating today is that the shooter(s) were traveling in a red SUV and that the SUV may have “damage to it’s windows” according to CHP authorities.

The Next Move?

Worse yet is the fact that these types of open executions are often followed by retaliation and the spark that ignites a full scale biker war. Northern California long the stronghold of the Hell’s Angels, has been invaded recently by the Angel’s most hated enemy the Mongols. The Mongols were the Angel’s adversary in the now legendary Laughlin, Nevada casino mayhem that included shooting and stabbing victims.

The details to this point are sketchy but local television news stations are reporting tonight that a member of the Hell’s Angels was shot and killed along a stretch of heavily traveled 101 freeway in Marin County. According to CHP spokesman, the biker was traveling north through Corte Madera when he was shot. The victim managed to hang on to his Harley as he exited the main Corte Madera exit off of 101.

Within a minute the rider was in the parking lot of the nearby CHP headquarters seeking assistance for his wounds. Not long after his arrival, the unnamed Hell’s Angel was pronounced dead in the parking lot.

No further details are known to this point

Newsflash: Hell’s Angels Plot to Kill Mick Jagger Revealed on The Huffington Post

In what has been suspected, written about in numerous books, and the subject of speculation, Mick Jagger was the target of a 1969 assassination attempt by his Altamont “security force” the Hell’s Angels. The source of this information, as reported by the Huffington Post, comes from an interview of former FBI agent Mark Young for the BBC documentary “The FBI at 100” to be aired Monday evening in the UK.

According to sources, the Angels, aka “the 81”, were angered by Jagger’s treatment of them during the ill fated 1969 Altamont concert. The venue and event has been, accurately portrayed, as the the end of the ’60’s. The Angel’s anger stems from what they feel is disrespect by Jagger toward members who were “taking care of business” during the concert. If you do not understand the term taking care of business, reference “Immigrant & Social Order: The Oakland Chapter of The Hell’s Angels 50th Anniversary.”

The results of this anger was a failed attempt to reach Jagger, while he was vacationing, at his Long Island, New York home. The attack was a sea to shore attack that went awry when the boat the “hit team” was navigating lost control in stormy choppy waters and capsized. No known or dared to be talked about attempts were made after the initial plot.
