jason-of-gorilla-sushi.jpg
This man’s name is Jason and if you adhere to his instructions you can bring instant readership and internet fame to you and your business. Jason is one of the writers of Gorilla Sushi a mashup of “humor, politics, technology, and culture”; a valuable source of business information when the mood strikes, Jason’s “Getting Stumble Upon Traffic” is by far the richest most information packed how to guide on Stumble Upon tactics available–as always it’s free. This is a overview so please reference Jason’s article for the indepth guide for your efforts.

The following caveat is what drew my initial attention to Jason’s work:

“While I am not an expert on the subject, I have been using StumbleUpon to market myself for over a year and half, having made my fair share of mistakes and have had a few strong successes. Most recently I received over 76,000 hits on one post over the course of a week, including over 21,000 unique visitors in one day.”

What is StumbleUpon? SU is like a moving text and video dictionary of blog and web pages you can click through at your desired pace. When you land upon a page you particularly like or dislike you may vote a “thumbs up or thumbs down” for that page. You can also set your preferences so that the pages delivered with each click match what you are interested in viewing.

In addition StumbleUpon is a community of people. Within this community you have the ability to create your own page telling the world about you and your preferences–a social networking place in the vein of a less detailed Facebook or Linkedin. SU also rates their “Top Stumblers” which in turn helps develop you and your blog within the community.

Jason’s list of “tips and tricks” are broken down into three categories:

1. Become a StumbleUpon Member: SU has nearly 4.5 million members. SU matches high quality site pages, as you click the SU icon, to your preferences as you set them on the site.

Increase Your Standing In the Community:

*Stumble often, daily if possible
*Add a Review in addition to “thumbs up” when appropriate
*Discover new, quality sites
*StumbleUpon Photo Blog It
*Stumble Quality content-finding new quality sites and giving them “thumbs up” can add to your SU community reputation

2. Write Content That Is Going To Get Stumbled: As Jason advises ” There’s no sense in devoting every word that you write to the cause of Stumble fame but keeping SU’s potential in mind when composing a post can increase the likelyhood of getting multiple Stumbles.”

Types of Posts That Do Not Fare Well:

*Link dumps
*Personal posts require interest in the writer something the reader will not have developed
*Series Writing if it is not a one off or self contained then it will not work in this format
*News if it is not relevant in a month then it will not have legs

Types of Posts That Do Fare Well:

*How to Guides or Instructional type posts
*Detailed Posts with links, lists, pictures, something that appears to have taken time to build
*Poignant Posts that make a powerful point in a succinct, short manner
*Visually Interesting posts that bring pictures or artwork to life

3. Submitting Your Content: Writing a quality post is the best formula for Stumble success but here are a few tips Jason adds to help move the process forward.

*Use a Stumble Button on every post
*Place a Stumble Button in your sidebar to support the community
*Link to your StumbleUpon profile-placing it in your about page is a good spot
*Write a Post about StumbleUpon
*If you use Feedburner use the Stumble It FeedFlare

The following are crucial Tactics and Tips, regarding submitting content, which require more detail that can be found in Jason’s article:

*What and When
*Asking For a Discovery
*Your Vote
*The Bandwagon
*The Dark Side

Jason’s advise is simple  “Write something worth while and it will get Stumbled. Let the traffic come to you in a natural way otherwise your efforts will look spammy and garner you a negative reputation.” As always content quality is king-write well and they will come.

10 Year Old Eddie Van Halen!

Reuters.com published this article on February 23, 2008

Have you ever seen a prodigy in any walk of life? Do you ever wonder if your kindred soul is walking around out there without any clue you exist? Well my “son” is this kid if I ever had a son-which I do not.

As a former associate to a EMI record company talent scout, I do understand what it takes to make it in the music business. I was lucky enough to see bands like Huey Lewis & The News, Journey, Eric Martin Band & Mr-Mr, and Ranger aka Night Ranger (Jack Blades you rock) in clubs prior to their ascension to stardom.

If ever there was a star in the making, this kid has it written all over him! If you understand “tapping” technique made famous by Eddie Van Halen, you will be astounded by this kid’s ability! The following video is his rendition of Eddie Van Halen’s dynamic, unequaled, and music industry turning point “riff” “Eruption.” Pay attention you rock fans–this kid is the real deal in raw, rough diamond form.

Btw, this video has 446,000+ views on youtube–this kid rocks!

Quick Business Guide #1: The 5 Key Questions You Must Answer Before Launching Your Business

Watch this video of Jay Abraham to understand Key Question #3 in this Quick Business Guide

In order to understand the importance of preparation in going to market with any business, you must first install processes that will support your business. One of the most important overview processes to perform is answering the 5 Key Questions to starting a successful business.

If you do not have answers for any of these questions, it is important to stop and examine the “missing ingredient” that may create long term problems for your new startup.

The Five Key Questions

1. What is Your Substance Factor?

These are experiences, education, career titles, collaborations, successes, or lessons learned from failures you accumulated throughout your career that provide the “expert” substance factor that will give you credibility in your business

2. What Are You?

This is identifying what type of company you are about to launch and the market you are targeting

3. What Are Your Products, Services, and Market Strategies?

This is simply identifying whether you provide a tangible or intangible product, services only, products and services, and the strategy that allows you to cross sell and or up sell your customer base on an ongoing basis.

The #1 Market Strategy you can review before going to market is provided by the $7 Billion Dollar Man Jay Abraham in “3 Methods To Grow Your Business”

4. Who Is Your Customer?

Identify your customer, their demographics, their propensity to buy, and the habits this target market exhibits. Identify if you will sell to the general public, small businesses, large corporations, or a combination of the aforementioned. Investigate the possibility of opening up to a global-world wide market

5. What Is Your “Differentiating Factor(s)”?

What makes your product-service special or standout from the marketplace? Do you have an advantage that your niche competitors do not have in their businesses? Can you market this differentiating factor and make it a driving factor in your launch? How can you leverage this differentiating factor in order to convince an established business, in your niche and with established-developed channels into the market, to partner-collaborate-or present you to the marketplace?

US Bankruptcy Judge Glenn Denies Okun’s “Indentured Servitude” Plea: Trustee McHale and 1031 Tax Group Victims Supported

“A bankruptcy judge has denied a bid by 1031 Tax Group owner Edward Okun to back out of his deal to sell his collection of luxury items to repay some of the $150 million owed to creditors of his failed real estate tax shelter” according to Associated Press reporter Patrick Fitzgerald in his article “1031 Tax Group Owner Ed Okun Loses Court Bid to Keep Toys.”

In deansguide’s article “Okun Attempting To Terminate Asset Transfer Agreement According To 1031 Tax Group Victim: “Indentured Servitude” Never Looked This Lucrative” Okun’s characterization of the ATA, a document he signed off on months earlier, as “Indentured Servitude” provides further evidence of this man’s motivations and utter disregard for the victims he directly effects everyday.

Consequently Okun was fighting for the necessities in life such as his four (4) cars:

1. Rolls Royce Phantom
2. Bentley Continental
3. Lamborghini Gallardo
4. Porsche 911

What will the rest of this ongoing saga bring us? Only time will tell but as it stands now it has been a long and sad trail to recovering settlement monies that will never fully be restored to their rightful owners.

What Country Has The Most Explosive Tourism & Luxury Potential Outside of Las Vegas: Cuba’s Castro Steps Down Will This Open The Doors?

Fidel Castro’s resignation, due to health issues, of the presidency of Cuba brings new hope that this island paradise–real life human rights nightmare could possibly change into an economic powerhouse.

Cuba could become an incredibly hot real estate, development, gaming, entertainment, travel industry paradise if opened up to democractic economic principles. The acceptance of outside investors who would clamor for the opportunity to develop this paradise location could drive an economic renaissance of the type seen in Dubai right now. Cuba’s potential is as bright as it’s politics are dark.

Francis Ford Coppola’s Godfather series depicted Cuba as a cross between Hawaii and Las Vegas on the doorstep of economic boom and growth. History has painted a different story rooted in 50 years of socialist rule, shortages and hardships, a muzzling of free speech, and a general deterioration of civil rights the byproduct of dictatorship.

The question remains what kind of paradise of riches could the Cuban people thrive upon with real estate holdings developed, gaming empires created, tourism jaugernaut realized without a Fidel Castro or hangover of Castro-ism Cold War dictatorship?
