Meebo: A Realtor’s “24/7 Open House”

Meebo, as described by it’s own wikipedia, is an in-browser instant messaging program which supports multiple IM services, including Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, AIM, ICQ [1]. In plain English, Meebo allows potential clients, surfing the web for real estate information, to directly instant message an agent through their blog or web site. It allows consumers complete anonymous communication with the Realtor without the fear of unwanted solicitations, spam email campaigning, or unwanted phone contact.

Meebo brings alive the idea of a “24/7” open house, develops the concept of “radical transparency”, and it is a potential lead generation tool. Here are the steps to sign up:

1. Meebo’s home page will ask you to sign in or sign up

2. Upon completion of the registration, MeeboMe allows you to choose your username and configure your meebo widget for placement on your blog or web site in 3 easy steps. Step 1

Step 3. Meebo Code screen. The code for your Meebo widget is highlighted in “blue” in the box. Follow the instruction by copying the code and pasting it into the appropriate html section of your blog where you would like the widget to appear.

3. Once you have completed the copying of the code, click on the bottom button to send you back to Meebo home page this will verify your sign up.
